GOOGLE BUSINESS PROFILE OPTIMISATION
Done once. Matched to your site.
When someone nearby searches for what you do, Google shows a map with three businesses on it before any website. Those three come from Google Business Profiles, the free listing behind your name on Google Maps. We set yours up properly, once, and check it against your website so the two tell Google the same story. $590 one-off for any business. Free with our Growth and Authority websites.
Most profiles are filled in on the day they are claimed and never touched again: one category where there should be four, no services listed, photos from opening week, and a website that describes the business differently. Google reads that as a business it cannot be sure about.
The map. Then the website.
Categories come first, because they decide which searches the profile can show up for at all. The main category has to be the closest match to what you do, and most businesses can add several more that they never fill in. We check which categories the businesses ranking above you on the map are using, then set yours to match how people actually search.
Then the rest of the listing: the services you offer with a line on each, products where they suit, a description that says what you do and where, opening hours, service areas, booking link, and your photos added in the shapes the profile accepts. Your name, address and phone number are set exactly as they appear on your website, character for character, because a mismatch makes Google less sure the two are the same business.
Reviews are the other lever. You get a short link that opens the review box straight away and a message to send it with, plus how to answer reviews, good and bad, so every one gets a reply. Nobody should write reviews for you, us included; what moves the number is asking every happy customer, every time.
The part most profile jobs leave out is the website. Google checks the profile against your site, so every category and every service on the profile should have a page behind it. The match report lists which ones are missing, which page titles and headings do not line up with the profile, and where your site's details or the behind-the-scenes code Google reads disagree with the listing. On a site we built, we make those changes. On any other site, you get the list, ready for you or your developer.
The profile decides whether you show on the map. Your website is how Google checks the profile is telling the truth. This job does both halves.
Still waiting on verification, or not claimed the listing yet? Our guide walks through verification step by step, and the profile can be optimised the day it clears. Google Business Profile verification.

You add us as a manager on the profile from your own Google account. We never ask for your password, and you can remove us the day the job is done.
The same five steps run on a profile for a site we built and one we did not. The only difference is step five: on ours we make the website changes, on anyone else's you get them as a list. Book a call.

Google Business Profile optimisation questions.
Google Business Profile optimisation means setting every part of your free Google listing so it shows up for the right searches on Google Maps and in the map box at the top of Google: the right categories, the services you offer, a clear description, photos, hours, service areas, a booking link, and a name, address and phone that match your website exactly. It also means getting reviews coming in and answered. Done properly once, most of it only needs touching when something in the business changes.
At Newcastle Web Co it is $590 one-off, for any business, and included free with the Growth and Authority website packages. In Australia, profile-only optimisation is commonly a few hundred dollars, and some agencies charge several thousand. Ours sits between the two because it includes the website match report: the pages your site needs behind the profile, which profile-only jobs leave out.
No, never. You add Newcastle Web Co as a manager on the profile from your own Google account, which takes about a minute. You stay the owner, and you can remove us whenever you like, including the day the job is finished.
Nobody can promise a position on the map, and anyone who does is guessing. Google says it ranks local results on three things: how relevant the profile is to the search, how far the business is from the person searching, and how well known it is, which includes reviews. Optimisation fixes the parts you control: the right categories, complete services, photos, reviews coming in, and a website that backs the profile up. Distance is the one part nobody can change.
No, and that is deliberate. Posts keep a profile looking active to the people who open it, but on their own they do not move it up the map. We set up what does, and leave you a simple monthly routine: add new photos, answer every review, and post when you have something worth saying.
Verification comes first, because an unverified profile does not show on the map. Our guide to Google Business Profile verification walks through it, and once it clears the optimisation can start straight away. If your profile has been suspended, tell us before you book and we will say honestly whether we can help.
Send us your business name or a link to your profile, and we will come back with what the job covers and when we can start.
