SEO NEWCASTLE Newcastle SEO. Page one.
Right now someone in Newcastle is searching for what you sell. SEO decides whether they find you or a competitor: the keyword research, the on-page work and the schema behind your site, and all of it is built into every site we make. SEO is in the build price, not sold back to you later.
If your site isn't on page one, they're calling a competitor. Plumber Newcastle, electrician Charlestown, landscaper Maitland: those searches run hundreds of times a month, and every one of them turns into a job for somebody.
One map.Every page.
SEO starts with a keyword map, not a page count. Every page is assigned one target search and one job, so no two pages on the site end up competing for the same result.
That map decides the meta titles, the headings, the body copy, the schema and the internal links. It also decides how many suburb pages the business actually needs, which is 30 on a Growth build and 50 on an Authority build, each one written for a single location and service search.
Search is three layers now. Google's ranked links are still the biggest, but AI Overviews sit above them and plenty of people ask ChatGPT before they open Google at all. Every site we build covers all three. Most of the Newcastle competition still only covers the first.
That is the whole of our SEO services in Newcastle: research, structure, copy, schema, suburb pages and the profile match, done as part of the build rather than sold back to you by an SEO consultant after launch. If you already have a site and only want the ongoing work, the monthly plans further down cover that too, on any website.
SEO is in the build price on every package. There is no setup fee, no bolt-on, and no separate SEO retainer waiting for you after launch.
How much of this the region already has is measured. Of 742 local business sites we audited in September 2026, a third carry LocalBusiness schema, the typical site names two suburbs, and 38% put no place name in the title at all. See the study.
Five steps.Then ranked.
Most sites that never rank were built without the second step. No competitor audit, so every page went up with nothing to aim at and nothing to beat.
The same five steps run on every build, Starter through to Authority. What changes is how many suburbs the map covers, not the method. See the full web design process.
Keyword research
real terms, not guessesEvery phrase your customers actually type, mapped to search intent and commercial value. Nothing gets written against a keyword nobody searches.
Competitor audit
the gaps they left openWhat your competitors rank for, and what they have missed entirely. The gaps become your pages, because that is where a new site can win quickly.
On-page build
one page, one keywordMeta title, description, H1, heading structure and body copy all aligned to a single target on every page. Nothing on the site competes with itself.
Schema and local signals
how Google reads youJSON-LD on every page, your name, address and phone matched to your Google Business Profile, and suburb pages for the areas you actually work in.
Search Console
measured, not assumedConnected and the sitemap submitted on launch day, so movement is visible to you from the first week instead of arriving in a report months later.
The Starter
$1,800
Full keyword research, on-page SEO, meta data, schema and local setup across 3 to 5 pages, targeting your main service area.
The Growth
From $3,500
Everything in the Starter, plus 30 SEO suburb pages, each one built for a single location and service search across your area.
The Authority
Book a call
50 SEO suburb pages covering every area and every service you sell, plus an ongoing SEO strategy review session.
SEO is included in every package at no extra charge. After launch we keep the site running on a monthly support plan, and any build can run on any plan. See what every package includes.
How much does SEO cost in Newcastle?
SEO services in Newcastle are mostly sold as a retainer. The agencies on the same search results page as this one start at $1,500 a month and run to $5,000, usually on a six or twelve month term, and the proposal rarely says how many pages that buys.
Our answer is different because the SEO is already in the build. What you pay for after launch is new ground: more suburb pages, more posts, and a Google Business Profile that is worked every week. Three plans cover it, none has a minimum term, and every one prints exactly what it delivers.
- Google Business Profile planLocal SEO ↗$350/mo
For the business whose map listing matters more than its website. The profile is optimised in the first fortnight, then four posts a week, every review answered and your photos added monthly. Works on any website, ours or not.
- Website support planMomentum ↗$200/mo
For a business that wants steady new ground. One SEO suburb page and one blog post a month on top of hosting and maintenance, so the site grows a page at a time and never goes stale.
- Website support planScale ↗$850/mo
For a business that wants the map covered fast. Four to six suburb pages and four posts a month on a 48-hour turnaround: eight to ten pieces you can open and read, for less than the cheapest retainer on this search.
Which one you need depends on how many suburbs send you work and whether the map pack or the ranked results is where your customers find you. A trade working across the whole Hunter is usually Scale. A shopfront on one street is usually Local SEO. Ask and we will tell you which, and if the honest answer is neither, we will say that too. Every plan, line by line.
What it did for one Newcastle business.
Bellus Bridal Hair & Makeup came to us on a 151-page WordPress site with nineteen years of rankings on it and a mobile speed score of 56. The brief was a rebuild that lost nothing. We kept every URL, rebuilt 158 pages on Astro, and gave the business five region hubs and 59 suburb pages, one for every town a bride might type.
Four weeks after the cutover, the average Google position across every search the site appears for had moved from 19.5 to 13.9, the number of searches with real volume where the site sits on page one had gone from 77 to 99, ten of the suburb pages sat on page one for their own town, and the enquiry form had taken 30 enquiries in its first month. On the AI side, the site was cited in six of the ten AI Overview prompts we track for it, ahead of a national wedding directory with three times its domain authority.
Read the Bellus case ↗Google Search Console for bellus.com.au, 28 August to 21 September 2026 against 3 to 27 August on the old WordPress site, the last 25 days with final data either side of the cutover. Page-one searches are queries with five or more impressions at an average position of 10 or better. Suburb placements are the 90 days to 23 September. AI citations are from the 1 September SE Ranking read. The speed captures and the full story are on the case page.
Highly recommend Newcastle Web Co! I recently partnered with them to build my new website, and the results have been incredible. Their team didn't just build a pretty site; they engineered it for local growth. The inclusion of custom SEO suburb and wedding venue pages has completely shifted my visibility in local search results. The site is lightning-fast, fully responsive, and was delivered exactly on schedule. If you want a digital partner that genuinely understands SEO and treats your business goals like their own, look no further than Newcastle Web Co!
SEO for Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens and the Hunter
The same method runs across the whole region, and the reason we can say so is that we run it on our own site. Every suburb below is a page we built for ourselves, one location and one service each, the same way a client's suburb pages are built. Pick your region for how the market there behaves, or pick a suburb for the page written about it.
Newcastle →
The CBD and the inner suburbs are the most contested search market in the Hunter, and the one where suburb pages earn the most. A search for a plumber in Hamilton or a cafe in Merewether returns a different result to the same search for Newcastle, and the business with a page for the suburb is the one that wins it.
Hamilton, Merewether, Charlestown, Adamstown, Mayfield, Jesmond, Kotara, New Lambton, Wallsend, Broadmeadow, Lambton, Waratah, Wickham, Cooks Hill, Bar Beach
Lake Macquarie →
The largest council area in the region by population, spread around a lake, so customers search by the side they live on. A Charlestown business and a Toronto business are competing in different results, and an SEO company covering Lake Macquarie has to build for both rather than for the council name.
Warners Bay, Glendale, Cameron Park, Cardiff, Toronto, Belmont, Morisset, Speers Point, Swansea, Edgeworth, Mount Hutton, Valentine
Hunter Valley →
Cessnock, Singleton, Muswellbrook and the wine country between them. Tourism and hospitality compete with national booking platforms on the broad terms, so the win is in the specific ones: the town, the venue, the job. Most of the Bellus suburb pages on page one are Hunter towns for exactly that reason.
Cessnock, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Pokolbin, Lovedale, Broke, Branxton, Kurri Kurri, Aberdare, Nulkaba, Aberdeen, Dungog
Maitland →
One of the fastest-growing areas in New South Wales, with new estates at Gillieston Heights, Chisholm and Thornton filling with households that have no tradie, no dentist and no accountant yet. SEO in Maitland is largely about being the first name a new resident finds, and a suburb page per estate is how that happens.
East Maitland, Thornton, Rutherford, Beresfield, Morpeth, Lochinvar, Metford, Woodberry
Port Stephens →
Nelson Bay, Salamander Bay, Raymond Terrace and the villages along the bay. A seasonal market whose population swells every summer, so a Port Stephens business needs pages for both customers: the local who searches all year and the visitor who searches from a phone on the foreshore.
Raymond Terrace, Nelson Bay, Salamander Bay, Medowie, Anna Bay, Heatherbrae, Shoal Bay, Fingal Bay
What people ask before they book.
On-page work can move local rankings inside 30 to 90 days. Suburb pages build more slowly because they start with no authority at all, so most Newcastle Web Co clients see steady movement from around 60 to 90 days. Google Search Console is connected on launch day, so you watch it happen rather than wait for a report. Anyone promising page one in a fortnight is guessing.
No. The SEO built into your site works from launch day with no ongoing fee attached to it. A monthly support plan keeps the site current, and new content and regular reviews do speed results up, but the SEO you paid for in the build does not switch off if you are not on a plan.
Schema markup is structured JSON-LD data on every page that tells Google exactly what the business is, where it works, what it sells and how to contact it. It is what drives rich results in search, and it is one of the main signals AI tools use to decide who to cite. Newcastle Web Co puts schema on every page of every build.
It depends on how far you travel for work. The Starter covers your main suburb and the area around it. The Growth package includes 30 suburb pages, which suits a business working across a city. The Authority package includes 50, which suits a business covering several council areas across the Hunter.
Google Business Profile guidance is included in every package: we match your name, address and phone number across the profile and the site schema so Google reads one consistent business, and we advise on categories, photos and reviews. If you want the profile run for you, that is the Local SEO plan at $350 a month: optimised in the first fortnight, then four posts a week, every review answered within two business days and your new photos added monthly. It works on any website, whether or not we built it.
On a Newcastle Web Co build, nothing extra: keyword research, on-page work, schema and the suburb pages are in the package price from $1,800. Ongoing work is a monthly plan with no minimum term: Momentum at $200 a month for a suburb page and a post, Scale at $850 for four to six suburb pages and four posts, or the Local SEO plan at $350 to run your Google Business Profile. Newcastle SEO retainers from agencies typically run $1,500 to $5,000 a month on a six or twelve month term.
No. Anyone who does is lying. We build the strongest possible on-page and technical foundation, then the results follow from the quality of the work.
Yes. We work from Cameron Park, on the Lake Macquarie side of the city, and build for businesses across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Valley, Maitland and Port Stephens. The method is the same in every region; what changes is the suburb map, which is researched for where your customers actually are. Our own site carries a page for 55 suburbs across the five regions, and every one of them is linked from this page.
Tell us about the business and we'll put together a fixed-price quote covering keyword research, on-page SEO, schema and the suburbs worth targeting. No obligation, and no hard sell.
Serving Newcastle and the Hunter. Newcastle CBD, Hamilton, Merewether, Charlestown, Warners Bay, Cardiff, Cessnock, Maitland, Nelson Bay and Raymond Terrace, and everywhere in between.
