Starting design Corella Painting

Painter website design in any colour.

Corella Painting is a made-up house painter in Adamstown with a real, working website. Here is what's on it, how it moves and what it scores.

Painting website design for Newcastle and Lake Macquarie

This painting website lets the visitor do what a painter's client does first: pick a colour. Five paint chips sit in the hero, and choosing one rolls the new colour across a Colorbond sheet, then carries it through the whole site for the rest of the visit, from the buttons to the paint that pours into the last section.

The brief

Bold, clean and modern, on a white page. Someone choosing a painter is really choosing a colour and trusting someone with their walls, so the site puts the colour in their hands on the first screen and shows the care in the prep everywhere else. One typeface, Bricolage Grotesque, set heavy for the headings; five paint chips (Coral, Harbour, Ironstone, Fig and Ironbark); and a hero built like the job itself: a ribbed metal sheet in the chosen colour, joined to a house photo by a dry-brush stroke.

The licence number sits on the first screen of every page and in the footer. In NSW, a contractor licence is needed to do, contract for or advertise residential painting worth more than $5,000 in labour and materials, including GST, and a painter who shows the number up front answers the question a careful client is already asking.

What's on the site

  • Five service pages: exterior, interior, roof painting, decks and fences, and commercial and strata, and a services page with a price guide for every job, plus GST.
  • Two area pages, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, over nine suburb pages. Each deals with what its houses face, from salt air by the beach to heritage streets where the council has a say, and lists the jobs done most there.
  • Six sample projects, each with what the house needed and how the finish was chosen.
  • Three info posts: what house painting costs, testing for lead paint before you paint an older home, and choosing a colour.
  • An about page on who does the work and how a job runs.
  • A quote form that asks for the job and the suburb with a tap each, and arrives filled in from the service or suburb page you came from.

The suburb pages go where the crew goes. Like any trade business, a painter drives to the job, so the areas follow the work: two council areas around a base in Adamstown, picked by how often people there search for a painter.

How it moves

The colour picker is the signature. Tap a chip and a roller wipes the new colour across the sheet; the buttons, the highlights and the menu follow, and the choice stays with the visitor from page to page. On the home page a room is repainted as you scroll, from plain white walls to the finished colour, beside the four steps of the job.

The page you're on is marked in the menu by a stroke of the chosen paint through the word. Each service page opens with its coats stacked up, surface first and the top coat last in the chosen colour, and the price guide is a fanned deck of sample cards in that colour's shades. Near the bottom of each page the paint pours in and drips down behind the footer. A visitor who has asked their phone for less motion gets every page finished and still, with nothing hidden.

What it scores

Agentic browsing3/3

Google PageSpeed Insights, mobile, on the live demo home page, 28 Oct 2026: performance read 99. That is with the full-screen photo, the colour picker and the pour above, on a phone.

Why SEO says 100 here and less on the live demo. Corella Painting isn't a real business, so the demo carries a noindex tag: it tells Google not to list the site, and it never competes in search with a real painter. PageSpeed marks that one tag down, because on a real site it would be a mistake. Switch the tag off and SEO scores 100: we tested the home page, a service page and a suburb page that way on 28 Oct 2026, and all three came back 100.

Built to be found

Every page was given its own search term before a word was written. We researched the searches people actually make for painters around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, then gave the highest-volume terms to the pages that sell: each service, the two area pages and the suburbs. No two pages compete for the same search.

What we'd ask a client to shoot

On a real build these come from the painter's own jobs, and their own finishes are what sells them. For this demo they are stock photos and generated stand-ins.

  • Two or three rooms before and after, from the same spot with the camera on a tripod, so the repaint lines up wall for wall.
  • Six finished houses from the street, in soft morning or late afternoon light.
  • The prep: scraping, filling and sanding, close enough to see the care.
  • Cutting in along a ceiling line by hand, and a roof being recoated.
  • The owner on site, half-length, with a colour card in hand.
  • The van and the drop sheets, so a new client knows who is pulling up.
